Did you know... before the advent of commercial airlines, air travel was primarily reserved for the rich and famous. The first commercial airline, the St. Petersburg-Tampa Airboat Line, was launched in 1914 and offered flights between St. Petersburg and Tampa in Florida. The airline operated for just four months before it went bankrupt, but it paved the way for the development of the commercial airline industry.
