Did you know... One of the early Glastonbury Festivals, specifically the 1970 edition, was held the day after the death of guitar legend Jimi Hendrix. This historic event took place from June 20 to June 24, 1970, at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England. The festival organisers decided to pay tribute to Hendrix by erecting a large wooden pyramid on the main stage, which was set alight on the final day of the festival. This iconic moment marked the first time the Pyramid Stage was introduced at Glastonbury and it has since become a recognisable symbol of the festival.
