The true geographic North Pole moves about 10 cm per year! Most people assume the Geographic North Pole is a fixed point, but due to Earth’s shifting mass and climate changes, it actually drifts by about 10 cm (4 inches) per year. This is different from the Magnetic North Pole, which moves much faster—sometimes up to 55 km (34 miles) per year! Even GPS systems must constantly adjust for these shifts to maintain accuracy. So technically, if you stood at the exact North Pole today and returned in a few decades, you’d be standing somewhere slightly different!
